Our African Artist in Residence program is an enriching cultural experience that would immerse three classes of First Grade students at Bugbee Elementary School in many aspects of West African culture. Won-Ldy Paye is a captivating performer, artist and children's book author who brings his many talents to life through his teaching. His teachings will help students to make cultural connections, introduce story elements in their Reading and Writing units of study and enhance their Social Studies content learning. Students will participate in hands-on activities involving teamwork with music, listening and speaking, storytelling, map skills and art. His week long residence will conclude with a culminating student performance for families to enjoy.
