To align with the study of Adaptations of Living Things and enhance the Common Core writing curriculum, third grade students at Charter Oak Elementary School will participate in a demonstration of endangered birds of prey by Wingmasters. There will be at least five rehabilitated raptors including eagles, hawks, falcons and owls. Julie Anne Collier, from Wingmasters, will provide information about predation, the birds' place at the top of the food web, different hunting adaptations, and their status in the world today. After the program students will do an opinion writing project where they will encourage others to protect the habitats of these birds.
