Carson Family Foundation Grant: Mythology Up Close and In Person

This grant funds the “Chariot of the Sun”, a one-man show on Greek mythology, for Whiting Lane Elementary School fourth grade students. This in-residence program will enhance the curriculum while captivating students with tales of the heroes, gods and monsters of Greek mythology. The performer, Jeffrey Benoit, brings classic tales to life through the use of poetry, masks and mime. He also intertwines skillful audience participation to create a fun filled theatrical learning experience for all. The “Chariots of the Sun” program offers a study guide for teachers to review with students prior to the performance to ensure that the audience gets the most out of the performance. The program is offered through the Connecticut chapter of Young Audiences and has earned the title, Program of Excellence.
