Mr. Labadia a former West Harford teacher and published author and illustrator will join Bugbee Elementary school for a two week-long residency called, "Story Stones." Mr. Labadia will guide the students to first create an "Identity Story Sketch" in Writers Workshop and then provide artists with the opportunity to paint "Story Stones" reflecting their identity in art class. The 5 pillars of creativity, achievement, friendship, perseverance and leadership will be woven throughout the students identity sketches. The power of storytelling will give students the opportunity to connect with their social and emotional learnings to acknowledge and respect our unique identities as human beings in a collective school community.
