Experiential Educators of Connecticut owner Mike Caouette is dedicated to providing quality STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) based enrichment programs for elementary schools, the 5th grade of Duffy Elementary School. Two Programs (1) Electricity and Magnetism and (2) Optics. During the first program, Electricity and Magnetism, students will conduct experiments, learn the difference between alternating and direct current, learn about and observe the parts of simple, series, and parallel circuits at work. During the second program, Optics, students will learn about the external and internal anatomy of the human eye. They will work in inquiry teams as they examine a 1925 Eastman Kodak camera, and discover how the parts of the human eye are analogous to the camera. The curriculum connections for this residency are Life Science,Science and Technology in Society, Physical Science, and Scientific Inquiry.
