Some students at Bristow Middle School have great difficulty sitting for an entire 45-minute period. Some of these students are Special Education or 504 students with attention disorders, physical constraints, or have been diagnosed with hyper activity. Research has shown that the ability to stand can be a huge help for students who find it difficult to focus or be comfortable sitting for longer periods of time. This standing desk that will give certain students the ability to stand during the lesson, while still providing a flat surface to work on that is easily accessible.
