This grant will fund a tour day for 5th grade students from Wolcott Elementary School to get a taste of the college experience, both at Manchester Community College and Trinity College. The students will meet the dean of students, professor, college students, sit in on a class, eat lunch in the cafeteria and tour the campuses. One of the Common Core’s directives is college and career readiness. This trip will be an immersion tour into the spectrum of college experience. The students will be able to imagine themselves at college one day and make choices in their education leading up to that goal.
