Active Futures: Community Fitness for Independence Empowering Young Adults to Lead Active, Independent Lives Beyond the Classroom

Students in the Post-Secondary Program will take part in Active Futures: Community Fitness for Independence, a series of community-based fitness activities designed to promote health, independence, and inclusion. From January through June, students will engage in Free Swim, Water Zumba, Yoga, Pickleball, and Fitness Training sessions at local facilities including Cornerstone Aquatics Center, Elmwood Community Center, the Mandell JCC, a community Pickleball clinic and town Reservoirs and Westmoor Park. These experiences will build fitness, confidence, and community connections while reinforcing key transition skills that prepare young adults with disabilities for active, healthy, and independent lives.
