- Applicants: Mario Lopez, Lead Teacher Steven Brouse
- School: Bugbee
- Subjects: Music, Physical Health Education
During a 5 day in residency, hip hop artist Austin Dailey, founder of Red Supreme, will work with all Bugbee Elementary School students to provide instruction in the art of hip hop dancing. Hip Hop music and dancing will then be incorporated into the theme of healthy life style choices and the effect that exercise and proper eating have on the body. After a whole school assembly where Mr. Dailey will demonstrate his skills, each class will meet with him during PE time as they learn basic hip hop moves and will then create their own simple dances. Hip hop culture will be integrated into the music and art curriculum as well during this in residence program.
