With this grant students will learn about African culture in five days of engaging lessons for one hour per day. 60 first grade students from Bugbee Elementary School will be introduced to Africa, create art with the African map, and be introduced to African teamwork and music. The students will explore how Liberian art connects to cultural stories and community values. They will experiment with mask making, learn the history of African symbols and perform a student performance in the classroom for families.
