Every eighth grade student in the West Hartford Public Schools will experience the opportunity to build and perform on a theremin; an electronic digital instrument which creates sound without physical contact from the performer. Students will work in groups of two to build a MicroKit theremin and explore how to play simple songs on it. Students will also have the opportunity to perform simple songs on a Moog Theremini to discover the more advanced features of a full size concert instrument.
