Author's Skype with Neal Shusterman

Students in Grade 7 at King Philip Middle School will have the opportunity to actively engage with author Neal Shusterman by Skype, talking with this established author about the writing process. Shusterman’s book “Bruiser” is part of the school year’s first learning unit. The unit focuses on learning the elements of a story and how those elements interact to create great literature. Teachers will work with students small groups to write, evaluate, revise and choose questions for Mr. Shusterman. Students will learn to identify and analyze elements of literature and the writing process, create interview questions, and analyze and discuss “Bruiser” with its author.
