B.R.A.G Creative Marketing Grant: Meet Monet and Friends

To align with the kindergarten “Great Artists” art curriculum, this grant funds a field trip for 65 kindergarteners from Wolcott Elementary School to visit the Hill-Stead Museum in Farmington, CT. The students will see works from Impressionists such as Monet, Degas, Renoir, Van Gogh, and Cassatt. After a one-hour tour that will be adjusted for kindergarteners, museum teachers will lead students outside so they can create their own plein air sketches in the style of the Impressionists. The students will learn about these great late-19th-Century artists and about en plein air technique.
