In this project, we will supplement the academic and group counseling curriculum with several cooking activities. These sessions will involve students working collaboratively to plan out a few cooking lessons. They will have the opportunity to assign roles, determine what they need for the recipes, prepare and cook, manage the clean up responsibilities and socialize with one another. We will problem solve and reflect on what did and what did not go well. We will try to figure out what to do when the product does not turn out as planned. Finally, we will take a field trip to visit a historical site and the Culinary Institute of America to consider career possibilities.
