Cantor Family Grant: Precision Dynamics with Carts on Tracks-Engaging Physics Learners in Collision Analysis
- School Year: 2025-2026
- Applicants: Derek Palmisano, Norman Burtness
- School: Hall High School
- Subjects: Science
This grant revolutionizes our Hall High School physics labs by funding five high-precision Dynamics Cart and Track Systems, moving our students beyond inconsistent experiments and toward genuine scientific discovery. This state-of-the-art equipment allows students to conduct complex collision experiments with incredible accuracy, enabling them to directly support fundamental laws like the Conservation of Momentum and Energy. Our students will transition from passive learners to active researchers, mastering abstract concepts by collecting and analyzing real-time digital data using industry-standard tools. This hands-on experience in high-quality data collection will equip every student with skills needed for success in college and future STEM careers. Moreover, the power to achieve reliable results will build scientific confidence and foster essential skills like teamwork and analytical problem-solving. We are excited by the prospect of bringing high quality physics lab equipment to our classrooms and inspiring the next generation of engineers and physicists!
