In a cross-town collaborative approach, Webster Hill and Norfeldt Elementary Schools will use the 2016 Nutmeg Book Nominees to offer several activities and programs to all fourth and fifth grade students and teachers. The goal is to enhance learning through increased reading of quality literature. Each month a different Nutmeg Book will be offered as a book club selection. Daytime student book clubs will be offered at lunch, recess, and/or before or after school for students wishing to participate in these discussions. In addition to the daytime clubs, a parent/child Nutmeg Book Club will also take place in the library one evening a month. This book club will consist of interested parents, students, librarians and staff from both schools meeting together in a cross-town book club at Norfeldt and Webster Hill Elementary schools. Activities associated with these clubs will include discussion of literary elements, student inspired projects, and skyping with authors.
