Dougie and Tom Trumble Grant: A Peek into the World of Author Grace Lin

Grace Lin will be an artist in residence for a day at Norfeldt Elementary School. Prior to her visit, all students will be completing an author study. Students in grades Kindergarten through 1st grade will learn about the Mid-Autumn Moon Festival and experience a live interactive book reading of A Mooncake for Little Star. 2nd and 3rd grade students will learn about the customs of the Lunar New Year with references to Lin's books Bringing in the New Year and The Year of the Rat, participate in a Chinese New Year draw along and participate in a question and answer session. 4th and 5th grade students will learn about experiences and myths that inspired Lin's book Where the Mountain Meets the Moon, experience a readers theater of "The Red Stone," join a dragon draw along and participate in a question and answer session.
