Dowd Family Grant: Probeware Technology For Science Inquiry in the Life Sciences

This grant provides funding for a state-of-the-art probeware technology tool capable of collecting sensor data to support hands on, collaborative and inquiry learning for science students in grades 9 through 12 at Conard High School. The Vernier LabQuest 2 wireless device makes it easy for students to collect, analyze and share data in the field and in the classroom for a range of science courses from biology to environmental science. The six Labquest 2 sensor based devices purchased through the grant will be utilized by students in multiple student conducted research assignments including ocean acidification, enzyme activity, cellular respiration, photosynthesis, population dynamics, quality of freshwater environments, soil quality and physiology of the circulatory system.
