Graphic novelist Gareth Hinds will spend the day with Conard and Hall High School students discussing how he travels from an idea to a published text and how he adapts literary classics to graphic novels as he has done with his critically acclaimed adaptations of Homer's epic The Odyssey (2010) and William Shakespeare's tragedies Romeo and Juliet (2013) and Macbeth (2015). Mr. Hinds is a recipient of the Boston Public Library's "Literary Lights for Children" award. His books can be found in bookstores and English classrooms around the country, and his illustrations have appeared in such diverse venues as the Society of Illustrators, the New York Historical Society, and over a dozen published video games.
