The Common Core requires that students read nonfiction books and 8th grade students also complete a guaranteed research experience during the school year. Author Steve Sheinkin is a nationally renowned author of nonfiction young adult books. This grant will enable Sedgwick Middle School 8th grade students to have a Skype session with Mr. Skeinkin during which they will be able to ask him questions about his research process and writing process for these books.
