E-Readers for all Readers

As technology and digital methods for reading continue to advance across all segments of education and society in general, the need for access to digital devices for all students is critical. The lack of access to technology should not be a student’s obstacle to achieving academic success or exposure to literature within a school’s e-collection. With all three middle schools piloting e-book subscriptions for the 2015/2016 school year, it is essential that all students within these schools have access to the subscription material. With this grant, 8 Kindle Fire Kids Edition devices will be purchased and circulated through the Bristow, King Philip, and Sedgwick Middle Schools. Students will have the opportunity to both use the devices in the school library and at home where they can “check” books out with individual e-reader accounts.
