Chem for Kids is an innovative outreach program that brings Conard High School chemistry students into Sedgwick Middle School classrooms to share the excitement of science through hands-on demonstrations and mini-labs. Designed and led by the high schoolers, each session features engaging experiments like colorful acid-base reactions, bubbling gas-producing reactions, and polymer slime creations that make chemistry come alive. The program not only strengthens students' understanding of scientific concepts but also builds leadership, teamwork, and communication skills. Middle school participants benefit from fun, interactive learning experiences that spark curiosity and confidence in STEM. By connecting students across grade levels, Chem for Kids fosters mentorship, community engagement, and a shared passion for discovery.
