Greene Family Grant: Birds of Prey Take Flight in West Hartford Public Schools

Wingmasters, a partnership dedicated to increasing understanding of birds of prey, will give three presentations incorporating live North American birds to the sixth grade classes at King Philip Middle School. Wingmasters will explain the birds’ hunting adaptations, predation, place in the Connecticut food web and current status. This complements the sixth grade science unit on ecosystems. Students will see the birds “up close” and ask questions of the raptor rehabilitator.
