Young children learn through play, movement, imitation, and music. Webster Hill Elementary School is excited to announce that Pre-kindergarteners will have the opportunity to engage in music and movement sessions with a primary focus on social-emotional learning in the 2024-2025 school year! Licensed Music Therapist Emily Bevelaqua, of Emily Bevelaqua Music Therapy Services will visit each of the classrooms twice a month throughout the year to provide music and movement programming. Three Pre-Kindergarten classrooms consisting of 48 students will benefit from this specialized program across varying developmental levels. Through music and movement experiences such as singing, structured and improvisational instrument play, creative dance, and mindful music listening, the program will enrich the early childhood curriculum by fostering social skills and building upon social-emotional, communication and language, and motor development.
