Holmeen Family Grant: Enhancing High School Students' Language Education: A University-Level Chinese Language Experience

This grant will fund Conard High School students' transportation costs for a field trip to attend a Chinese language class at Yale University, a tour of the campus, and a visit to the Yale University Art Gallery. By attending a university-level Chinese language class, students will be immersed in a real-world language learning environment. This exposure enhances students' language proficiency and their ability to engage in meaningful conversations with native speakers. Exploration of the university's Asian art collection will contribute to students' greater understanding and appreciation of Asia's rich cultural heritage. Through touring the campus, students will experience what it is like to embark on higher education in an environment conducive to academic growth. This field trip is intended to foster and encourage students' academic growth with an experience trip that exposes them to a world-class academic and rich cultural learning environment.
