Innovative program linkings students both with and without disabilities to work together to create micro-businesses that will follow the student with a disability into adulthood. Recognizing 80-90% of adults with autism and other disabilities are unemployed, this program seeks to change that narrative in West Hartford. With their motto of "The Purpose of Life is the Live a Life of Purpose", the WeHa Unified Business Club has already had much success connecting with their community creating useful items that celebrate local pride such as West Hartford Cookbook, reusable grocery bags, t-shirts and other items. See their website for a list of businesses created and blogs about their process. www.wehaunified.com
