The idea behind the Little Learners Library at Whiting Lane Elementary School is to provide a variety of books that teachers can check out to use in their classrooms. These books will not only support our curriculum content areas (math, language arts, and science) but will also enhance students' development in the areas of social/emotional learning and cultural diversity, as well as meet unique needs of our English Language Learners who have limited access to books in their native languages. Board books will also be ordered when available so that little hands can turn pages with more ease. This library will not only enrich our curriculum, but will allow all of our students the opportunity to develop a love of books through hands on exploration!
