At Sedgwick Middle School, we are excited to incorporate a multi-sensory approach into our reading intervention program designed for students in grades 6-8. This scientifically proven approach aims to close the achievement gap in literacy by engaging students through hands-on activities that enhance phonemic awareness, decoding, and spelling skills. Utilizing materials like magnetic boards, whiteboards with colored markers, and interactive games, students will actively participate in learning that caters to their diverse needs. From jump roping while spelling to writing with chalk outdoors, each activity is crafted to make literacy fun and engaging. Our integrative program will strengthen literacy skills and empower students to become confident readers and learners.
