In an effort to promote a culture of literacy in every home in collaboration with the educational mission of the school, this exciting program will engage the entire Braeburn Elementary School community in reading a common book. Using the One School, One Book program developed by the literacy organization “Read to Them”, students from K-5 will engage in reading a common book at home with their families and then participate in grade appropriate discussions and assignments related to the book. Through this shared experience, students will be exposed to and engaged in writing, listening, and analysis of a selected piece of literature while including their families in the overall experience.
