Students will have individualized reading accounts which gives them access to diverse leveled fiction and non-fiction books to read both in the classroom and at home. Students will listen to books, read them independently, and complete quizzes to assess their understanding of the books. The teachers in grades K-2 and the Special Education Resource Teacher will be able to access the online teaching resource Reading A-Z which includes numerous instructional materials, projectable books to share on a Smartboard, and leveled books which can be printed to support whole group, small group, and individual reading instruction. Printed and online books can be read at home to strengthen the home-school partnership. These resources will help our youngest readers build their oral reading fluency, decoding skills, vocabulary, and comprehension strategies.
