This exciting grant will provide funding for Kyle Saulnier, New York based jazz saxophonist , composer and director to visit Bristow Middle School to work with 6th, 7th and 8th grade students in jazz band and choral music. Students will increase their knowledge of jazz and the following musicianship skills: improvisation, reading and notating music, and evaluating music. In the spring Mr. Saulnier will spend 2 days at Bristow working with choral and jazz band students in rehearsals and sectionals. He will return in June to perform at the Bristow spring concert with the jazz band and choral ensemble.
