The entire Smith school population will have the opportunity to listen and learn from Patricia Polacco, the author and illustrator of over fifty children’s books. Ms. Polacco will be Smith’s author-in-residence, giving presentations tailored to the interests and needs of the various grade levels. This grant will help engender a love for literature by introducing students to a prolific and enthusiastic author, thereby helping create confident and enthusiastic readers and writers.
