This project will enhance student experiences at Charter Oak International Academy during the Writing Workshop by investigating the connection between writing and visual expression as they learn directly from local author and illustrator Rick Labadia. This program will promote student creativity and self-expression through the writing and illustration process. In the end, students will have a final product to share with their peers, teachers, and families. Through this experience, students will see themselves as authors/illustrators, as well as better understand an author’s purpose in writing informational text.
