Papasavas Family Grant: Diversity and Equity through reading, writing and Art!

Using funding from our grant, we plan to bring a local muralist into our building to help paint visuals of the diversity that we see each day in our school. Using the book entitled All Are Welcome by Alexandra Penfold and Suzanne Kaufman, pk-2 students will read aloud and discuss diversity within our school while grades 3-5 will write opinion pieces of what the mural should look like. These ideas will be shared directly with the muralist. Students will also have the chance to help paint pieces of the mural. Students in our building will see the stunning artwork each day along with the numerous community events that use the space such as scouts, concerts, after-school care and other school events.
