Pauluk Family Grant: Developing a Deeper Understanding of Connecticut History

Fourth grade students from Whiting Lane Elementary School will visit the Connecticut Historical Society located in nearby Hartford to immerse themselves in Connecticut history. Students will tour the museum to learn about the origin of our state's name, geographical location, early settlements, famous residents, as well as our state's past and present industry. Students will also learn about the significance of our state charter and the Charter Oak Tree. These fourth grade authors will incorporate this newly gained historical knowledge into their informational chapter book on CT history.
