Rocktaschel Family Grant: Representing History- Updating the story of slavery in the West Division

The funding will support two historians-in-residence, the project directors of the West Hartford Witness Stones Project at the Noah Webster House and a graphic designer to update the Noah Webster House exhibit on the colonial West Division. This new panel, made through the collaboration of students and the graphic designer, will more accurately portray colonial life. The dedication ceremony will help both the school, Bristow Middle School, and West Hartford community learn the significance of these enslaved people's lives and how their story should be remembered.
