Pre-k, first, and third grade students at Smith will become engineers as they design cars made from Legos. They will test the cars to determine the speed and use problem solving skills as they rebuild their cars to improve the initial designs. In the process they will develop skills in telling time, measuring time intervals and measuring distance as well as many others. As a follow up the older children will create a video explaining how Newton's Law of Motion affects the speed of their cars.
