Rogo Distributors Grant: Cultural Connections - Equal Access for All

This grant for students in grades 3,4,5,9,10,11, and 12 will continue the work of the Cultural Connections program, which for the past 5 years has paired 15-20 elementary aged English Language Learners (ELLs) at Whiting Lane Elementary School with 15-20 Hall High School student ELLs in a cross-district “buddy” learning partnership. Students will travel to various local cultural attractions, places they might not go with their families due to various reasons such as access to information, cultural and linguistic differences, or financial constraints. The group will continue to learn how to present information and add to a website started in the previous year and will present the site to their parents at the end of the year gathering at one of the schools.
