Rogo Distributors Grant: Enhancing Vocational Skills

This grant funds materials that will enhance post secondary; on-site, pre-vocational repertoire by introducing academic work activities that incorporate money, time, measurement, numeracy, sequencing and functional sight words. Once students master these activities in-house, they will be able to generalize the skills and begin to take on work placements off-site, within the community. According to the US Department of Labor's Office of Disability Employment Policy, when hands-on, real-life work experiences for students with disabilities are provided, there is an increase in the potential for students to find meaningful employment in adulthood, have a greater level of independence, and to participate more fully in their community.
