This project will launch a King Philip Science Olympiad Club that provides students with meaningful after-school opportunities to explore science, engineering, and technology through hands-on, collaborative experiences. Science Olympiad is a nationally recognized program that engages students in 23 rotating events covering a wide range of STEM fields, from biology and chemistry to engineering and technology design. By working together to solve complex problems, students build critical thinking, communication, and leadership skills that extend far beyond the classroom. This initiative directly supports our district's mission to provide all students with the learning and support they need to succeed in school and in life, and our vision of preparing graduates to transform the world. The club will not only deepen students' STEM knowledge but also foster confidence, creativity, and perseverance. Participation in Science Olympiad has been shown to increase student engagement and interest in STEM careers, helping to build a future-ready, innovative community of learners. Ultimately, this program would offer an equitable pathway for all students to discover their potential and excel in high-impact, real-world learning experiences.
