Rob offers a wonderfully-creative, team-building, morale-boosting, Pointillism Mural extravaganza. Pointillism is a technique of painting in which small, distinct dots of color are applied in patterns to form an image and create one large mural. For three days, Rob will reside at Duffy school all day, where every child, kindergarten through fifth grade, and adult in the school will get the chance to add at least 10 pieces to this masterpiece. Rob’s artist in residency program, focuses on fostering the skills of mindfulness and empowerment for students. Once completed the mural will be framed and presented to Duffy in a school wide presentation. This project also includes teaching students how to believe in themselves. By using positive role models, and stories of ordinary people doing amazing things. The children will learn comprehension, collaboration and presentation of knowledge and ideas Common Core Standards. This grant would allow students to participate in collaborative conversations with diverse partners. It will also provide students with the opportunity to speak audibly and express thoughts, feelings, and ideas clearly.
