Duffy kindergarten students in Christine Newman's class will have the opportunity to engage with technology through the use of IPADS. By using a variety of apps their learning will be enhanced in many areas of the curriculum. In literacy they will develop skills in reading sight words, identifying letter sounds and names, spelling, handwriting and reading books with a focus on word families. Math apps will involve counting objects, identifying shapes, solving puzzles and addition and subtraction using visual manipulatives. The children will also use the IPADs to enrich their weather unit in science as well as to take photos in the style of Ansel Adams for their Great Artist unit.
