An investment will be made in various types of books to enrich the grade 4 reading program at Wolcott Elementary School. With assistance from the school reading specialist and the media specialist, teachers will purchase a wide variety of non-fiction informational books that students will use as they work on improvement of several skills including abstract thinking and main idea and details. In addition they will select books for struggling readers that are high interest with appropriate vocabulary for those students who are not yet on grade level as well as books that can be used to model various reading strategies.
