Students at Aiken Elementary School will enjoy The Noteworthy Area Rug for Educational Facilities, an invaluable addition to the music classroom. This rug is a 10’9” x 13’2” piece with the staff and musical symbols, including dynamic markings, form symbols, and notes of varying rhythmic durations. The rug provides a kinesthetic and visual means to practice recognition of these symbols as well as their role in music literacy and expression. Through curriculum-aligned instruction, children can participate in activities and games that will enhance their understanding of these musical concepts and music-reading abilities such as the musical alphabet, absolute note name recognition, and pitch intervals.
