This grant allows therapists and special education teachers across the district to provide elementary students receiving emotional/behavioral and academic supports the opportunity to learn and practice skills needed to help them develop meaningful relationships and successfully navigate our social world. Social Express and Cool Schools offer animated, interactive Webisodes that offer instruction in core social emotional skills. Cool Schools covers all aspects of bullying, including cyber, cultural, emotional and physical. This well rounded research-based supplemental therapeutic approach benefits students, helping them to become socially apt, regulated adults. Parents can use this program with students, reinforcing what is taught at school, which encourages users to practice real-life social interactions.
