This project involves taking the entire Morley 5th grade to see the Hartford Stage production of a reimagined Tejano version of Don Quixote. Students will attend this performance after reading a children's classic version of the story in school. They will discuss the elements of plot and theme and create their own updated version of Don Quixote prior to the performance. After the performance, students will identify the updates and adaptations used in the play. These ideas will help and inspire students to revise their own original pieces. Within these original creations, students must still reflect the theme of the original work.
