9-12th grade students with educational disabilities (learning disability, emotional disturbance, autism, ADHD) at STRIVE High School will experience a series of cooking lessons every 4-6 weeks by the school psychologist and their resource teacher. These students often have difficulty with social interactions and motivation so in addition to learning some cooking strategies, lesson objectives will include cooperative learning, social interaction and communication. This grant will provide funding for food as well as bus travel to a grocery store and to a culminating activity at a local restaurant.
