This exciting project for a gardening club at King Philip Middle School for all interested students will provide hands on learning of the science curriculum. The club members will be responsible for planning, ordering supplies, planting and upkeep of the vegetable and flower gardens with support from faculty and the parent community. Vegetables will be harvested to use in school as well as to donate to local food collection organizations. This project will be implemented through science classes as well, and students will have the opportunity to work in the gardens during lunchtime, learning lab or after school as late buses are available. This project will be an ongoing one with the potential to expand it in future years.
