  • School: Webster Hill
  • Subjects: Science

Third grade students at Webster Hill School will have the opportunity to experience birds of prey up close and personally when Julie Collier and her partner, Jim Parks, bring their Wingmasters program to the school in the Spring of 2015. Collier and Parks are wildlife rehabilitators who specialize in raptorseagles, hawks, falcons, owls, vultures, and ospreys. They provide these raptors with the care that they need in order to return them to the wild and at the same time educate students about raptors by bringing non-releasable birds of prey to school. The Wingmasters program ties in with the Native American studies and the Animal Adaptations/Food Chains and Food Web units. Wingmasters will bring four live birds as well as countless Native American artifacts that will help students make a personal connection to these units of study.
