Wobble While You Work

This grant funds the purchase of Wobble Chairs for Whiting Lane Elementary School. These chairs seek to harness the natural movements of elementary children in order to allow them a greater ability to focus. The chairs are stools with a slightly domed base and are designed to allow the body to move without moving the entire stool or tipping over. Students can sit, wiggle and fidget on these nifty chairs, which will be purchased in two sizes to accommodate learners, both small and big. Students will not only intuitively exercise their back muscles, while relieving restless energy, but neurological research has proven the importance between movement and learning. A few of these chairs have already been introduced to the school in a pilot program with great success. This grant will allow the purchase of additional chairs to be used throughout the school.
